How's Your Oral Health? Read Our Tips:

Have braces or Invisalign?

Want to make sure you're taking care of your braces the best way possible? Whether you have newer Invisalign technology, or more standard metal braces, you need to do a great job taking care of your oral hygiene.

Here's our tips:

Fine-Tune Brushing

You should be spending at least two minutes carefully and thoroughly brushing your teeth after meals and before bedtime when you are wearing braces. You should hold your toothbrush with the bristles toward your gum line and make small circular motions to remove food debris and plaque from your teeth and around your braces. And do not forget to use the rounded tip of the top of the toothbrush to brush the inside surfaces of your upper and lower teeth.

Get An Oral Hygiene Kit

For those times you know you will not be home for several hours, take along a small zippered pouch containing your toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss. This way, instead of skipping your oral hygiene routine after eating, you can simply step into the nearest bathroom to brush and floss your teeth.

If you have metal or ceramic braces that are cemented to your teeth, you need to spend more time brushing and flossing because there are more places for food debris and bacteria to hide.
