How's Your Oral Health? Read Our Tips:

Have braces or Invisalign?

Want to make sure you're taking care of your braces the best way possible? Whether you have newer Invisalign technology, or more standard metal braces, you need to do a great job taking care of your oral hygiene.

Here's our tips:

Fine-Tune Brushing

You should be spending at least two minutes carefully and thoroughly brushing your teeth after meals and before bedtime when you are wearing braces. You should hold your toothbrush with the bristles toward your gum line and make small circular motions to remove food debris and plaque from your teeth and around your braces. And do not forget to use the rounded tip of the top of the toothbrush to brush the inside surfaces of your upper and lower teeth.

Get An Oral Hygiene Kit

For those times you know you will not be home for several hours, take along a small zippered pouch containing your toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss. This way, instead of skipping your oral hygiene routine after eating, you can simply step into the nearest bathroom to brush and floss your teeth.

Hygiene Tips for Invisalign and Braces

Whether you're wearing Invisalign or traditional braces, it important that you practice good oral hygiene so your orthodontic treatment is not derailed due to problems like tooth decay or gum disease.

If you have metal or ceramic braces that are cemented to your teeth, you need to spend more time brushing and flossing because there are more places for food debris and bacteria to hide.

Visit our website for our tips for making sure you maintain good oral hygiene while wearing braces.

Invisalign Braces: Not Just for Kids and Teens!

Are you self-conscious about your smile?

Do you wish that you would have gotten braces when you were a child so you could have the smile you’ve always wanted?

Maybe when you were younger, braces were too expensive. Maybe your dental insurance never gave you the coverage you needed to get braces or Invisalign aligners. If your circumstances have changed, it’s not too late!

It’s very common for adults to wonder if they’re too old for traditional braces or Invisalign invisible aligners. Often they worry about the look of braces as adults, or worry that their teeth won’t move as much as they’d like.

One of the many things that makes Invisalign great is that you can wear braces and straighten your teeth without anyone knowing! Invisalign invisible aligners have no age restrictions, so you can get them as an adult without worrying.

To learn more about invisible aligners like Invisalign, talk to a friendly, experienced member of our team! We're happy to answer any questions you might have. To read more, click here!

What's the Process for Starting Invisalign?

Are you starting Invisalign treatment?

Are you nervous about this big change in your life?

Invisalign is the go-to choice for many orthodontic patients, and it could be the right choice for you too!

Here's how it works:

  • Custom-Made Aligners: your 3-D scan allows Invisalign and your orthodontist to design your first set of custom-made aligners to begin shaping your straighter smile. The bpa-free, non-irritating plastic trays help you avoid some of the discomfort that can be associated with braces.

  • All Day and Night: you’ll wear your aligners all day and night to make the process as efficient as possible.

  • Eating and Cleaning: only remove the aligners when you eat and to brush your teeth. When you brush, make sure you clean you Invisalign aligners, too!

  • Upgrades: every few weeks, you get a new set of aligners which targets a set group of teeth according to the treatment plan devised by your orthodontist. Each set moves your teeth about ¼ mm.
